Esther Tumuheirwe

Am Esther Tumuheirwe a 33-year-old woman born from the western part of Uganda and am a mother of three, 2 boys and a girl. I joined Life in Africa in October 2004 as a Tie and Dye designer. With my skills in crafts, I joined hands with other Life in Africa members and we started creating different types of artisan products. I took on the team leadership of the arts and crafts production team, since then we have produced different types of crafts including paper beads necklaces.

Ever since I joined Life in Africa my life is not the same anymore, I thought tie and dye was enough for me but now I have expanded my knowledge in making other crafts giving me a wider chance of getting more income.

As Life in Africa continues to grow am looking forward to becoming a queen of making different artisan products and to teaching my new skills to other members of my community. My interest is to help my fellow women to learn how to sustain themselves through crafts.

By end of 2006 I wish to have a bulk production together with my team at Life in Africa.
