Joyce Mbowa

My name is Joyce Mbowa, my interests and skills lie in making wall hangings for flowers, Animals, Birds and Persons for Patchwork and Embroidery on small scale. I joined Life in Africa after being invited by a friend who was an old member.

I joined with the aim of selling off my already done work at this center but later on I discovered that Life in Africa was not about what I was thinking. During my stay at the center I started learning more skills from other members and this has been a great achievement for myself. Apart from making patchwork and other crafts, I joined the bracelet production as a bracelet creator but later on I realized that it was not my best field so I joined the team who sort out the synthetics, which are used for making the bracelets.

Ever since I started participating actively at the Center, my life has changed and I feel good working with these young people. I feel younger too and full of ambitions like a teenager once again. I hope that as more projects come up, we continue learning more skills and making ourselves better citizens in our community.

My next step is boosting my business of patchwork if my loan application is approved.
