Ocola Julius

Ocola julius is among the recent Life in Africa members who joined and before I joined my life was helples. when I learnt of this community I vowed better to better late than never and I'm aboard. I'm a 52 year old man, and married with five children Acholi by tribe who is among the lucky people who survived the northern Uganda war, ran and settled in Acholi quarters Kampala. Before I joined Life in Africa, in Acholi quartes where am living, life was not all that appealing and the whole situatoin was not in the line of humanity!

To mention, food, fees, and general needs for me and my family in the displaced camp was a general problem any one can talk of! thanks to the Life in Africa director whom when I joined, welcomed me in this community and made me part of the family and now living a better life than ever before. From Life in Africa, I have learnt many things like hand crafts where I earn and able to look after my children yet there is alot of positive changes all by LIA.

To mention but few, Life in Africa as a role model, has mobilised together with others to donate things like clothes to the children of Acholi community living in the displaced camps and above all, this community has brought us together and there is alot of learning and interaction with people of different cultures.

Now my next step as a member is to actively participate in all the activities happening at life in Africa and encourage others to join this helpful community so that we can join hands with other people out there and see how we can help the situatoin in Uganda more so how to help stop this northern war of uganda and to appreciate the members of microfinance union who wish to invest in us through loan program. This will help uplift poor LIA members.
