Richard Ocen

Richard Ocen are my namesand I come from the Acholi Quarters of Kampala, where I have have lived for the last eight years, spending most of my time at the stone quarry.I came to the quaters empty handedbecause ofall my belongings were burnt in my house by the rebels in northern Uganda.Since then, I have been living a very miserable life, only able to afford a meal in a day, no proper clothing for me and the entire family, anyway it was generally difficult.

But since Life in Africa set foot in our village introducing the bracelet project, life has completely changed. my children are still suprised upto now, because they keep on asking what could have happenned to us- they now sleep on mattresses, we have also since then introduced two more meals to make three in a day, they too have good clothes and shoes to put on now- all these were unheard of before.

All these, without the life in Africa community would not have been possible, since I had already decided that i would be better off at the camp along side my folks, i was just cut short by these people , making this an onset of my new found life.

Please lets all become part of the Life in Africa community because it's really a place to be.
