Angee Rose

I am Angee Rose, Acholi by tribe and aged 34 years old. I am married with 6 children. We had to leave our home village in Pader District when two of our children were abducted by the rebels. (They were resuced two years later and joined us here in Kampala).

We had to immediately cope up with the stone quarry work, which was actually the main source of income for everybody who lives in this village. It was a real struggle, because we could not take our children to school, rent was real burden let alone food which was the most necessary item in a home.

Since I joined Life in Africa in 2005 August, everything seems to be unfolding to us in a very special way, first the eating system has changed completely and children have never been sent home again for school fees and more exciting of all, I have even started putting up a semi-permanent house. This is the greatest achievement of my life. Owning a house of my own.

I still wish to do more though, that is after saving enough, I would like to build a bigger house that will be for rent, this will sustain my children through education.

My greatest thanks go to the LA community for having made my eyes opened to such opportunities that I am now undergoing.
